SHOWING OFF
Sometimes our ESDA dancers make us want to gush like proud parents. And where better than right here to unashamedly rave about their achievements?
What’s that? No, we haven’t been crying – we’ve been chopping onions… Ruby, Aaron & Suraiya Head for The Big Time
Ruby Bhowmick
What can we say about our Ruby? She’s truly part of the ESDA furniture.
Ruby joined us as a wee five-year old, when she signed up for breakdance classes before making the switch to street dance.
For the last ten years she’s progressed through the ranks, from newbie infant to crew member, winning dance championships along the way and starring in ESDA’s production of The Lion Bling in 2022.
It’s been a privilege to watch Ruby develop as a dancer and see her graduate from teaching assistant to student teacher at the academy.
We couldn’t be prouder that Ruby’s landed a place at the prestigious Platinum Academy of Performing Arts, where she’s studying the Level 4 Diploma in Performing Arts.
Ruby Bhowmick, set for greatness!
Aaron Clarke
Aaron joined ESDA when he was just six years old and right from the off it was clear this kid had something.
And by ‘something’ we mean everything you need to become an elite performer – he’s as natural a dancer as they come and effortlessly cool.
So it surprised none of us when he smashed the IDTA UK Freestyle Scholarships Awards this year, and danced off with the 1st place U16’s soloist trophy.
We’re over the moon that Aaron has taken the next step and joined Ruby at the Platinum Academy of Performing Arts, on the same Diploma in Performing Arts course.
Aaron is a star in the making and one to watch!
Suraiya Elliott
Suraiya joined ESDA when she was 11, bringing with her bags of ballet, tap, modern jazz and musical theatre experience.
She soon added street dance to her repertoire and in no time established herself as one of our most accomplished dancers at the academy.
And as if being a born performer wasn’t enough, Suraiya also just happens to be one of the loveliest and sweetest young ladies you’ll ever meet.
We’re proud as punch that Suraiya is studying GCSE Musical Theatre at the prestigious BRIT school.
The West End better get ready!
