Tyler Thompson

Student Teacher & Choreographer
Tyler has been training in street and hip hop since the tender age of 6 when she started Urban Academy Youth Project in Hampton. She has attended regular classes at Pineapple and Studio 68 and has continued her training here at ESDA since 2012, featuring as one of the longest serving principal dancers in our Senior competition crew and annual productions.

Tyler has her own infant class at the Academy, which keeps growing bigger and bigger, and she is an assistant teacher to our senior teachers, whipping the kids into hip hop ship shape.

On the academic side, Tyler studies dance at College along with photography, another great passion of hers, and also three sciences. She also runs after school dance clubs and drama workshops for local children.

Tyler’s credits include:
– Lead choreographer at Putney Arts Theatre’s production of Beauty & The Beast
– Charlie & the Chocolate Factory

– The Wizard of Ealing

– Flo White & The Six Dwarves

She won the Jack Petchey Award 2017 for her outstanding contribution to teaching dance as well has having achieved her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh and using her dance teaching experience to contribute towards her attaining the award. Tyler intends to develop her training and continue to teach as much as possible so that one day she can open her own dance school.
